I sell saunas and have a few models that I am not permitted to put prices on and want to put “Call for Pricing”. The issue is that you have to put a price in Shopify so I routinely have people checking out very expensive saunas for $0.00 and I have to always cancel the order. They do this multiple times before they stop. Is there a way to make it so they cannot complete a purchase with these items?
Topic summary
A merchant selling saunas faces a recurring problem: certain models cannot display prices per vendor restrictions, but Shopify requires a price field. Setting these items to $0 with “Call for Pricing” leads customers to repeatedly complete checkout at zero cost, forcing the merchant to cancel orders multiple times.
Proposed Solutions:
- Customize the product template to replace the “Add to Cart” button with a “Contact Us” button for these specific items
- Create a separate product template that displays contact information instead of pricing and checkout functionality
- One responder references an existing community thread with implementation guidance for changing price display to “Contact us for price” text
Status: The issue remains unresolved in the thread, with suggestions provided but no confirmation of implementation.
Hi @MSchaffer30 ,
What you need is someone to help you customize your product template to display a contact button instead of add-to-cart.
Hello @MSchaffer30 !
You need to create a new template like the one in this thread.
