Hello,
Can someone help me to create a bestsellers slideshow to my homepage. I’m using the Debut theme. Would like to know if this is possible for CRAFT theme if not the Debut theme?
Hello,
Can someone help me to create a bestsellers slideshow to my homepage. I’m using the Debut theme. Would like to know if this is possible for CRAFT theme if not the Debut theme?
Hi there @wbyw . Thank you for posting your question! I’m happy to help you out with this. What type of products do you sell? Have you been using your Analytics page to determine your best sellers?
You can add a slideshow to your home page by adding a “Slideshow” section in your theme editor and editing the blocks under that section to display the products you’d like. To get into your theme editor go to Online store > Themes > Customize (next to the theme you want to edit). Once there, make sure you are editing your Home page and you should see the button to Add section. Select the Slideshow option and edit the blocks to display the information you’d like. You can click Add Slide to add new slides and if you click into a specific block (one of your slides), you will see more detailed settings that allow you to connect a link to the slide, change the wording or image on the slide, etc.
This page here has more information on using sections and blocks. I’ve also included some screenshots below to show you where you can find this section with each theme.
Using Debut:
Using Craft:
While this can be done using both Debut and Craft, I would definitely recommend continuing with Craft. The reason I suggest that is because Debut is a vintage theme and Craft is an Online Store 2.0 theme. Online Store 2.0 themes come with much more customization and will give you more flexibility with your store’s design going forward. You can read more about the benefits of Online Store 2.0 on this page.
Please let me know if you have any questions!
Hi Erin,
Thanks for the answer however, i was asking for a slideshow that would work for products specifically as opposed to larger slideshow images [more vertical vs horizontal layout]
I wanted to continue with Craft however, haven’t been able to achieve this look i.e a bestsellers slideshow
Could you suggest a way i could make a bestsellers slider is not a slideshow?
Is there any way to do this on the Craft theme? ![]()
Hi @wbyw . The slideshow section in my example does allow you to connect products, but it sounds like you’d like to create a different layout. Do you have any examples of how you would like the slider to look? I may have some more suggestions, but I want to make sure I understand the layout you are trying to achieve. In the meantime, you can see a list of the sections available with Craft on this page.
Looking forward to your response!
Hello Erin,
If you scroll down to Holiday shop this is what i’m referring to ![]()
I would prefer something that autoplayed however, this slider is also nice.
BTW , i noticed that Craft has an ‘enable carousel’ option on the featured collection however, having tried it i’m not sure what this changes?
Hi @wbyw . Thank you for that example!
I’ve taken a look through the sections available with Craft and I think the best section to accomplish something similar to your example is to use the Featured Collection section and have the E****nable carousel on desktop option selected/enabled like you mentioned. I would also increase the amount of products that can be shown in this section by increasing the setting Maximum products to show. This section won’t autoplay, but with the carousel setting enabled your customers would be able to click the arrows under the collection to view more products. There is also a setting called Enable “View all” if collection has more products than shown that you can enable to add a “View all” button to this section.
The “Enable carousel” option will change the layout of this collection so that it displays as a carousel rather than in a grid. I’ve included some screenshots below to show the difference.
With the carousel setting enabled:
With the carousel setting disabled:
Try that out and let me know how it works for you!
