Add Google Reviews Widget to Website

Good day, I hope everyone is doing well.

I wish to show Google Reviews on my homepage. I want a widget that shows the latest Google Reviews like in the image below:

How can I have this on my store? Is there a specific code snippet I can use to sync and display reviews on the store?

I’d rather not use any apps for this unless they are absolutely free. Thank you in advance!

There is one free option to have this Google Reviews widget on a Shopify store. Elfsight offers a free plan (limited views per month) that displays a Google Reviews widget and works with Shopify.

Steps:

  • Go to https://elfsight.com/google-reviews-widget/
  • Click “Create Widget”
  • Enter your business name or Google Maps place ID
  • Customize the layout (carousel, list, grid, etc.)
  • Click “Add to website” and copy the HTML embed code

In Shopify:

  • From your Shopify Admin, go to:
  • Online Store → Themes → Customize
  • Choose Homepage, then add a Custom HTML section (use a “Custom Liquid” or “Custom HTML” block depending on your theme)
  • Paste the Elfsight embed code there
  • Save and check the live site

Before proceeding, I just wanted to confirm: is there a code snippet available that I can use to display the reviews directly? I’m aware that the default widget might include branding, and I’m hoping to explore a more custom or unbranded option if possible.

Does this google review widget only work for American stores, I am based in Australia, and it does not list my shop on the list. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Hey sorry to hear you are having trouble finding your Google listing in Shapo. You can try pasting your Google Place ID in to the search instead of the business name. Shapo has a super simple tool to get your Google Place ID here: https://shapo.io/google-review-link-generator.
