Add Product Type as a filter dimension in Part Finder

• Part Finder works via Navigation Menu

  • Level 1 → Vehicle type (2W / 3W / 4W)

  • Level 2 → Model

  • Level 3 → Part

• On submit → redirects to a collection / page URL

• Search & Discovery (PLP filters) app is already enabled

• Products already have Product Type (example: Helmet, Half Helmet, Open Face Helmet)

New Requirement

1. Add Product Type as a filter dimension in Part Finder

2. Pass selected Product Type to collection page

3. PLP should auto-filter products using:

   • Navigation-based Part Finder selection

   • Product Type (Shopify native filter: filter.p.product_type)

4. No hard dependency on new collections for every product type

5. Must work with Shopify Search & Discovery filters

It’s hard to actually get a grasp without seeing a visual reference. Anyways the search and discovery app i believe does give an option to add filters based on product type.

Can you please elaborate more on the exact issue?

As you may have noticed, Select 1, 2, and 3 are coming from the navigation menu. The ‘Type’ select is an independent product type metadata native. All product types are currently showing, but when I select a specific type (for example, bajj) and click Search, it redirects to the collection page. However, the requirement is that only products of the selected type should be filtered and displayed, and this should stay in sync with the Shopify Search & Discovery app filters.
