Add shipping rates by weight and free over certain cart value

Hi,

I would like to set up shipping rates by the kg and then if the total cart value is over a certain amount offer free shipping e.g.

1 kg - 2 kg - $10

2.1 kg - 5 kg - $20

Over 5kg - $30

Over $500 - Free shipping

So regardless of the weight, once the cart value is over $500, the shipping should be free.

I have setup the rates but the Over $500 is being ignored.

Is it possible to do this in standard Shopify without using a 3rd party app?

This is 100% possible to do without any apps. It should be very easy to setup. Can you share a screenshot of your current shipping settings? It should look something like this (if you’re doing it correctly):

Hi,

I realised my first problem - I had the free shipping as $501 or more but the cart was $500, so I fixed that but when I go over the $500, 2 options for shipping appear - Standard shipping at $20 and then Free Shipping.

How do I get the Free shipping to override the Standard option?

Those screenshots look good/correct. It’s normal behaviour for the 2 different rates to show up. There’s no way to get the weight-based rate to not show up if the price is over a certain amount. It’ll show both rates, but it should pre-select the cheapest rate (ie. the free one).

Hi,

I found an app that hides the paid rates if the total is over the limit. This should be a default option in Shopify!!
