Add shop to domain from existing webpage

Topic summary

A user wants to add a Shopify store to their existing domain (xxx.com) without replacing the current website content. They’re exploring options like xxx.com/shop or shop.xxx.com as separate destinations.

Main concern: When attempting to connect the shop to their domain, Shopify requests DNS configuration changes that would redirect the entire domain to the shop, potentially overwriting the existing site.

Goal: Keep the current website accessible at xxx.com while adding the shop as a separate section or subdomain, treating it as an external link for merchandise.

Status: The question remains unanswered with no solutions or recommendations provided yet.

Hey

I want to make a link which leads from xxx.com to XXX.com - XXX Sex Videos - Free ■■■■ Movies or shop.xxx.com or what ever other option there is. If I connect the shop to the existing domain I get asked, to change my DNS configuration to the shopify’s options, which will probably change the whole presented website under to the shop.

The content of existing page should still be found under the current address, as the shop should just be an external link to present merch.

Thank you for an answer.
