Due to the nature of the product we are selling it is mandatory that we install it (for safety reasons).
Can we attach a service charge in the checkout that is specified for the particular item we are selling? Different items cost differently depending on factors that has to do with customer and are not known beforehand.
Ideally, an itemised list of possible charges would be amended to the checkout since the service/install cost will be paid by the customer after the installation has been completed and there are also tax rebates involved where we need to retrieve specific information about the property etc.
UpCharge: Surcharges & Fees looks like a good example of this kind of app that would allow you to apply fees for ‘special handling’ and to specify which products this would apply to.
In terms of how these fees would appear for an order, I would check in with the app developers directly to see what their creation would be capable of.
