Is there a way to add a PDF download/view link to a product description ?
My site sells model kits and quite often modellers have lost or messed up the instructions and need a copy

There IS a way to add a link to a PDF from within your product description. The first step is to go to ‘Settings > Files’ and follow the steps in this Help Doc for Uploading files to your website to upload the PDF to your admin.
Then, within the description section of your product page, you will insert a link to the file. The Help Doc for Using the rich text editor will guide you through how to do that. Additionally, there is a forum post here that also has the steps and screenshots to help you work through it.

Just wanted to offer some advice on adding downloadable PDF files to your product description 
. You have a couple of options, including using the default Shopify features, or trying out the Ease Product Attachments app. That app is absolutely Free, and provides some improvements compared to what Shopify allows you to do.
With the app, you can upload and assign your files to specific products or collections, and you can even create a separate block or section for your downloadable files with icons to help them stand out.
It’s really user-friendly and comes with tutorial guides and documentation to help you get started. So if you need to add more files to your product pages in the future, consider giving it a try!
