If you mean a Buy Now button next to Add to Cart, that’s built in. In Online Store, click Customize, open your default product template, select the Product information section, and turn on the dynamic checkout button option. That adds a Buy It Now button beside Add to Cart that skips the cart and goes straight to accelerated checkout, showing Shop Pay, PayPal, or wallets depending on the buyer. No code needed. If you actually want two custom buttons doing something else, post your theme name, since the edit differs per theme.

Your screenshot explains it: the product is out of stock, so the main button switched to Sold out. The Pay with PayPal and More payment options lines mean the dynamic checkout button is already enabled, so once stock is back the Buy Now side works too. Go to Products, open this product, and either set the inventory quantity above zero or tick Continue selling when out of stock. The button then shows Add to Cart with Buy It Now beside it, no code needed.

There is a built-in Buy button block on your product template. Please enable the option to show dynamic checkout buttons, which will display Buy Now buttons or other payment options like Apple Pay and Google Pay based on the visitor’s browser.

This depends on your theme, but Shopify supports having both buttons.

Normally, You’ll have:

  • Add to Cart - Adds the product to the cart so customers can continue shopping.
  • Buy Now - Takes customers directly to checkout using Shopify’s dynamic checkout button.

If you’re only seeing one button, go to Online Store → Themes → Customize, open your product page template, and check whether the Dynamic checkout button option is enabled. Many themes include this as a setting can be turned on or off.

If your theme doesn’t support displyaying both buttons, you may need to edit the product template code or contact the theme developer to see if it’s supported.

If you let us know which theme you’re using (e.g Dawn, Prestige, Warehouse, etc,), someone can provide more specific instructions.

Hello,

To enable the Buy Now (Dynamic Checkout) button in your Shopify theme:

  1. Go to Online Store → Themes → Customize.
  2. Open your Product template.
  3. Select the Product Information or Buy Buttons section (depending on your theme).
  4. Enable the Show dynamic checkout button option.

Once enabled, the product page will display both the Add to Cart button and the Buy Now (Dynamic Checkout) button.

Shopify already supports both “Add to Cart” and “Buy Now” buttons, but the Buy Now button only appears when Dynamic Checkout is enabled.

Here’s how to check:

  1. Go to Online Store → Themes → Customize.
  2. Open your Product template.
  3. Select the Product Information section.
  4. Turn on Show Dynamic Checkout Button (or a similar option, depending on your theme).
  5. Save your changes.

If your theme doesn’t have this option, it may need a small theme code update or the feature may not be supported by that theme.
