Adding anchor points to home page and sub menus

Topic summary

Goal: create jump links from main navigation sub-menu items to specific sections on the Shopify home page using anchor points. Anchor points refer to HTML IDs placed on sections so clicking a link scrolls to that section; sub-menus are nested items under the main navigation.

The original poster, new to Shopify, cannot locate where to add IDs within home page sections or how to add sub-menu items to the main navigation that link to those anchors. They request guidance on both adding IDs to sections and configuring navigation.

A later reply only asks whether a solution was found, with no provided answer or instructions. No code snippets, screenshots, or attachments are included.

Status: unresolved and open. Key unanswered questions: where in the theme to assign section IDs (e.g., within section settings/templates) and whether Shopify’s navigation allows sub-menu items linking to #anchor URLs on the home page.

Hi all,

New to Shopify but I can’t find an answer to the following - I want to add several anchor points to the sections on the Home Page and then have sub-menu items on the main navigation menu to jump to these points. Some post talk about adding ID’s to sections but I just can’t find where to do this or that I can add sub-menus to the main navigation - any help greatly appreciated.
