Adding Custom Features to Shopify Paid Theme

Hello,

I am currently building the basic layout using the paid Shopify theme *Exhibition(*I haven’t purchased the theme yet; I’m currently building the layout using the trial version) I believe this community could help me, so I’d like to ask a few questions.

I’m trying to make some customizations using custom CSS. There are four features I’d like to implement. Can these be made with custom CSS or Liquid code? If so, I’d also like to know how to implement them.

  1. I want to add decorative effects above product item boxes using PNG images (please refer to the attached photo). I’d like this effect to be applied not only to this page but also to other pages. Can I use the same code for other pages?
  2. On the product page, I’d like to create a preview list on the left side of the main product image (the blue rectangle on the far left in the second photo).
  3. I want to display the size options in a table format, as shown on the right side of the product image (refer to the second photo) I’d also like to add a size image next to the table.
  4. I’d like to make the product image section (the largest blue rectangle in the second photo) scrollable vertically inside the section.

it’s better to hire a developer for this level of customization?

Considering the amount of work and time that will be required in this, I think it would be a good option to hire a developer for that who can help you out performing these tasks smoothly (if you’re not familiar with coding). These tasks would not only require CSS but also HTML and liquid coding in your theme files so I think hiring a developer would be the best option. Hi @oceanlee ,

Customizations will depend on theme support.

So if the theme doesn’t support requirements 2, 3, and 4 it won’t just be a CSS change, it will also require customization with HTML, Liquid and JS.

If you have no experience in coding, I recommend you hire a professional for these requests, they will do everything quickly and code cleanly instead of using some tutorial code that can potentially break the theme.
