We switched to Shopify about 4 months ago. In doing so, we migrated our existing gift cards over as well. Currently, we’ve only been able to figure out how to print them as a QR code from the receipt printer or text/email them to the customer. Does anyone know of a way to load the balance onto a physical card? Similarly, can you load the balance from an exchange onto a physical card? Thanks!

Thanks for your response! We have the gift cards from Shopify Hardware. My issue is that the only option for giving store credit seems to be via text/email or a QR code on receipt paper. I’d like to be able to load the credit onto an actual gift card.

Unfortunately, Shopify doesn’t support transferring store credit or customer account credit onto a physical gift card. They currently dont have a native way to convert one into the other.
Gift cards are a separate system with their own balance and code.
