Adding EU customer VAT number to Order Printer Pro invoices

When adding a legacy account recently, I noticed that Shopify has a new VAT field where we can at last add our non-German EU customers’ VAT numbers (we are based in Germany).

I assumed this would mean I don’t have to manually type it into the Address field in order for it to come up on their invoice which we generate with the Order Printer Pro app. I was wrong! Despite me adding the customer’s VAT number in the required field, it does not show up on their invoice automatically - I still have to manually type it out somewhere in the Address fields. I believe this is because Shopify’s API doesn’t expose this field.

Is there a plan to rectify this? Your European clients running B2B shops would be very appreciative!

Hi @CompanionBerlin. You’re correct this is not as yet exposed in Shopify’s API (Rest or GraphQL). So I’m afraid the field must still be entered manually or via legacy workarounds (e.g., customer notes or cart attributes) to appear on printed PDFs
