When adding a legacy account recently, I noticed that Shopify has a new VAT field where we can at last add our non-German EU customers’ VAT numbers (we are based in Germany).
I assumed this would mean I don’t have to manually type it into the Address field in order for it to come up on their invoice which we generate with the Order Printer Pro app. I was wrong! Despite me adding the customer’s VAT number in the required field, it does not show up on their invoice automatically - I still have to manually type it out somewhere in the Address fields. I believe this is because Shopify’s API doesn’t expose this field.
Is there a plan to rectify this? Your European clients running B2B shops would be very appreciative!
