Adding HTML tag, ie the meta tag to verify domain

I am trying to verifying my domain to connect to google. I am not big on HTML or how it works on Shopify. Within the google merchant center set up it is giving me 3 ways to verify my website: google analytics acct (don’t have one); Google Tag manager (don’t have); and access to my server.

I chose the access to my server because i knew that you could adjust your code in your theme settings. it provides a HTML that you can copy and paste. I am at a loss as to where to even begin finding where to put it.

I am unsure how this is so complicated and how shopify has not made it easier to be found on google!

Can anyone help me navigate this? I need to be walked through step my step and assume I know absolutely nothing about it (which i pretty much don’t!)
