I would like to add a link to my featured products and also my featured collections to my main menu. I can’t seem to find the link information for either to apply to the link box when I add a menu item.

What are the “two bars” that you mention?
I think I figured out the bars, you’re talking about the bars on either side of the page when I reduce. 
I still have not seen where to edit that yet, but we have decided to just add the featured product and featured collections into a category in the collections menu,
