Adding more than 3 variant options

Is it possible to make the variant options more than 3 without using any apps?
I would like to know if there are any codes or ways that I can try except using an app.

Hi @yoonlaser ,

In case you don’t want to use any 3rd app. Metafields allow you to store additional information about your products and you can use them to store extra variant options.

We cannot add more than 3 options without using App.

But if you need a forth option, then we have to use master and slave concept using the custom code.

Unfortunately, you cannot add more than 3 options to your products in Shopify.

However, if you want to add additional fields to your products, then you can achieve this but the additional information won’t be saved as variant info instead it will be saved in cart item properties. There are two ways to achieve this:

  • Use of 3rd party apps - You can use 3rd party “product personaliser” apps available on the Shopify app store. You can check them out here: https://apps.shopify.com/search?q=product+personalizer&st_source=autocomplete. These apps allow you to go live quickly, and manage products easily using their dashboard. However, you will be required to pay a monthly subscription fee unless you find a suitable free app.
  • Custom Code - Another approach can be to get the features custom-coded, which will require hiring a Shopify Developer. The potential drawbacks of this method are that it can be time-consuming, involve a higher one-time cost, and incur additional costs for any future amendments.
