Adding Photography Credit to Footer

All of the photography on my website has been done by one particular person and I am trying and failing to come up with a way to credit it them without it being obtrusive.

I would like the credit to be an external link to her website. We’re in the wedding business, and it’s important as vendors to support and link to each other.

I’ve tried to add it to text in the footer but the text is bigger than the actual links in my navigation. With guidance I can do some light css mods on my own.

Does anyone have examples they like where credit to a photographer has been done tastefully? I’m also not opposed to moving it from the footer to somewhere else.

Thank you!

Hi @jessamine . You can also give credit on pictures as caption. But I don’t think it will look good. It is better to give credit in footer section.

Hi, @jessamine

Welcome to the Shopify Community! I hope you’re well.

I love that you are looking to collaborate with other vendors while providing them credit on your site. I hope this photographer returns the favour!

One way you can achieve this is to create a Page in Shopify and add the Page to your store’s footer. Within the page, you can provide a quick blurb crediting the photographer while linking to their website.

I hope that helps! In the meantime, I’d love to take a look at your website and see what additional feedback I can provide. Feel free to provide your domain when you have a moment.

I agree. Thanks for talking it through though

Hi @Skye_1 ,

jessamine.events (pw redballoon)

Thank you! Yes our little vendor community is tight knit. I’m a florist and she’s a photographer.

At one point I did have as a section in my footer exactly what you described, with links to my various policies and her site. It was okay but a little clunky. Looked exactly as the navigation does now. But shopify released literally this morning an update to my theme (Studio) that made it so you can move your policies to the footer. Which is awesome, but they don’t have the option to add anything to it, just the legal policies. I’m sure I would be able to fix that with some coding but I’m not at that level yet.

Any feedback appreciated, even about design, readability, etc. Thank you very much!

Hi @Matchalleri

Thank you for your extremely thorough response. I am leaning towards your last two options. Once I take on more weddings, I know I’ll have other photographers I’ll need to credit and it makes sense to just make the page from now.

Hi, @jessamine

I took a look at your site, and it, as well as your arrangements, are beautiful! You are incredibly talented.

I only have a few minor suggestions to add. The first is to remove the Powered by Shopify text at the bottom of your page. This is extremely easy to do and adds that extra touch of professionalism and independence to your site.

Next, I would consider adding any booking/cancellation/refund policies you may have to your site. These can be added to the footer.

Finally, have you considered adding booking options directly to the site itself? This can make it easier for your clients to book the day of their event while providing a deposit. You can even use a terms and conditions app that requires them to complete a contract before checkout! For appointment bookings, I find the app Cowlender extremely user-friendly. It’s also free!

I hope that helps! Best of luck in the upcoming wedding season!

Thank you so much. I really appreciate all of the feedback. I
implemented the two first suggestions and will look into the apps at a
future date.

Tomorrow is the day!
Thanks again
