Adding text on images and videos for Google Performance Max campaigns: Yes or No?

When you upload pictures and videos in Google Performance Max campaigns, do you guys use only “raw” pictures and videos or do you add related text on them?

I think images with texts will get rejected.

For A/B testing, you should test for your self, what works for one merchant does not mean it works for you. So making your own test and making decisions based on data is your best option to knowing the answer.
