Address Dropdown in Checkout for Non-Plus Users

Why doesn’t Shopify provide a simple solution for non-Shopify Plus users about city selecting dropdowns on checkout page?

I need to create a dropdown menu for the city and district fields in the address selection on the checkout page like in the screenshot:https://imgur.com/Q5Cdyne

Is there any possible way to achieve this without shopify plus membership, such as an app or an alternative method?

It’s extra effort to maintain extra systems, it’s just how pricing tiers work for services.

The checkout is sensitive and they should not let every other merchant shoot themselves in the foot.

It took a decade for them to even allow merchants to be able to use one-page checkout, to prevent fallout from that.

Non-plus stores,

When a customer has an account already non-plus stores should try to address disambiguation before the customer reaches the cart.

If there is no account there’s only improving your messaging and customer support to smooth over that experience when it fails.

Hey there,

Thank you for your response. Yes, I understand that Shopify imposes limitations on the checkout page, but I believe there should be more flexibility for fundamental features.

Of course, I understand the reasoning behind the pricing differences between plans, but addressing basic fields like the address shouldn’t be considered a premium feature. I find it unfair that such a fundamental function is restricted.

I really hope Shopify adopts a more inclusive approach in this area soon and provides more flexibility not just for Plus users but for all merchants.
