Hey there…
I’m needing a little advice / guidance in regards to my websites errors in the Google Page Indexing Report.
I received an email from Google saying that new errors had been found on my website that was affecting the indexing of my pages and that I ought to do something about it.
I have had a look at the page indexing report and would love it if someone could answer a few questions for me.
I’ll include screen shots where appropriate…
It does appear that I have a very large number of unindexed pages. Is this normal?
Looking at the reasons… the bulk of the non indexed pages seem to be alternate pages with proper canonical tag which Google suggests is a good thing. If this is as it should be, then what exactly should I be fixing?
The ‘not found’ pages are a little more concerning as I have no idea where these pages are originating from. The url doesn’t look like anything I recognise. How do I go about fixing this issue?
The same issue again with the crawled but not indexed list. Thousands of pages with url’s I don’t recognise. How do I fix these when I don’t even know what they are.
Bit of a mammoth task I know, but I am at a loss with all of this. All the help files and forum pages seem to be very good at explaining what things are but offer no advice on how to go about fixing issues, or even if the issue needs fixing at all.
