Google is not going to work for u because u are new.

So seo / leo - don’t try that now

Instead try social media like tik tok insta

And it u have a community or some social circle that will be great.

Or paid partnership with admin/moderators of social groups/magzine/etc on insta/facebook. Like sharing profit with them - u will do all the work and they will pin your sites at the top

Partnership with influencers

Initial few months/years will be very tough.

And try every single thing u know / have read / seen others doing before giving / pivoting to other ideas

With a product like log burners, concentrate on the trust element first. Include clear installation instructions, safety information, good quality lifestyle images and customer reviews. Use your product titles and descriptions to include keywords that your buyers really use. Shiping rates and times should be visible. Run a few targeted ads, but also work on SEO and useful content such as installation or maintenance guides to bring you traffic organically over time.

Hi @Busyasabee

For log burners, customers usually need a lot of confidence before buying because the products are expensive, technical, and may require professional installation.

I would focus on:

  • Clear heat output, dimensions, fuel type, efficiency, and room-size guidance

  • Delivery costs and expected delivery time

  • Installation requirements and warranty information

  • Strong product photos and videos

  • Reviews, business details, and an easy way to ask questions

  • Local SEO and Google Shopping rather than relying only on social media

Could you share your store link and the country you sell in? That would make it easier to give you specific feedback.

I’d focus less on traffic and more on removing the reasons people hesitate to buy. This is a higher-consideration product, so the sale usually gets lost on trust, clarity, or not knowing which model fits their space.

A few things I’d do first:

  1. Make the product pages do the heavy lifting. People will want to know heat output, room size it suits, fuel type, dimensions, installation requirements, delivery times, and whether it meets local rules. Put that near the top, not buried.

  2. Add real proof. Clear photos in a real setting, customer reviews, and if you’ve got them, installation photos or before-and-after shots. For something like a log burner, people want to picture it in their own home.

  3. Make the buying path simple. If you sell multiple burners, help people choose by room size, style, or budget. Too many options with no guidance can kill the sale.

  4. Be upfront on delivery and installation. If there’s any uncertainty there, it can stop someone from checking out.

Lastly, I’d consider a tool like Carti. Full disclosure, I’m the founder. But it’s a shopping assistant that gives every visitor personalized service. That could be really powerful for answering questions and overcoming objections in real time, especially if your conversion rate is lagging.

If you want, share your store link and I’d be happy to take a closer look.

Welcome! :star_struck:

Since you’re selling log burners, I’d focus on building trust and helping customers visualize the product in their homes:

  • Use high-quality photos from different angles, and include lifestyle shots of the burner in a cozy living space.
  • Add videos showing it in use if possible. People love seeing the flame, heat output, and overall atmosphere.
  • Answer the questions customers are likely to have before they ask: room size suitability, installation requirements, fuel compatibility, efficiency, safety certifications, and maintenance.
  • Collect reviews as early as you can. Even a handful of genuine customer reviews can significantly increase confidence.
  • Make sure your product descriptions explain the benefits, not just the specifications. Instead of only listing dimensions, talk about how it helps create a warm, comfortable home while being efficient to run.
  • Don’t just track sales - keep an eye on which products are actually making you money after ad spend, shipping, and other costs. It’s easy to chase revenue, but understanding your true profit helps you decide where to invest your time and marketing budget.

Most importantly, be patient. The first few sales are often the hardest, but every customer teaches you something about what works. Best of luck with your store!

@Busyasabee ,

One piece of advice I’d give is dont focus on getting more traffic until you are confident your store converts visitors into buyers.

For a product like log burners I’d make sure your product pages answer every question a customer might have clear specifications, installation requirements, heating capacity, delivery times, warranties, and plenty of real photos. Customer reviews and trust signals also make a big difference.

Once your store is ready focus on SEO, Google Shopping, and creating helpful content around topics like choosing the right log burner or installation tips. That kind of content can bring in highly targeted visitors who are already looking to buy.

Good luck with your new store!

Hi @Busyasabee

Welcome to online marketing, and all the best in setting up your store!

A few things that could work wonders when selling log burners include:

  • Ensuring that your individual pages feature well-captured images from all possible angles, product description, dimensions, heating capacities, and other information related to installing the equipment.
  • Ensuring you have trust marks such as customer reviews, warranties, delivery policies, and payment security badges on each of your product pages.
  • Providing a section where potential buyers could get answers to some frequently asked questions regarding fuels and maintenance, among others.
  • Optimising product pages using keywords which could help customers find you online.
  • As a beginner, it may be advisable to conduct an advertising campaign as well as provide some relevant content on social media sites.
  • Ensuring your contact information is easy to locate on your website.

If you use Shopify, I would recommend evaluating the performance, mobile usability, and checkout process to make sure the customer is able to buy something without any trouble.

Feel free to post the link of your store if you want to get some advice on how to improve conversion rates.

All the best for your venture!

Hi there!

Loads of good advice here already, so I’ll add one thing that’s easy to overlook : a log burner is a “think about it” purchase. Most people won’t buy on their first visit - they’ll browse, compare, and come back later. So a big win early on is making it easy for them to come back.

Two simple things that help :

  1. Give people a way to save products for later, and capture their email - a short “how to pick the right burner for your room size” guide is a great hook. Then you can gently follow up with folks who were interested but didn’t buy yet.
  2. Keep an eye on where people drop off - If lots of visitors reach a product page but don’t add to cart, that usually points to a missing detail - price, delivery cost, or installation info - rather than a traffic problem.

Both help you get more out of the visitors you already have, which matters a lot when you’re just starting. Hope this helps

Hi there. thanks to everyone for your replys. My store URL is love-my-burner.co.uk

Hi, @Busyasabee
Since you’re new to selling online, I wouldn’t worry about driving a huge amount of traffic just yet. With log burners, people are likely to take their time before buying, so I’d first make sure the store gives them enough information and confidence to place an order.

Start with your analytics

Check your Shopify Analytics for sessions → product views → add to carts → checkout → purchases. This will show you exactly where potential customers are dropping off. If you’re getting traffic but very few add-to-carts, the issue is likely the store/product pages rather than simply a lack of visitors.

Improve the product pages

Make sure each log burner has the information a customer needs to make a decision: dimensions, heat output, efficiency, fuel type, installation requirements, delivery, warranty and returns. Add multiple product photos and, if possible, lifestyle images showing the burner installed.

Build more trust

For an expensive purchase, I’d make reviews, customer photos, contact details, warranty information and delivery details very easy to find. A clear explanation of who you are and your experience with log burners can also help a new store feel more trustworthy.

Check mobile performance

I’d also test the store with PageSpeed Insights and check the mobile results. Large images, unnecessary apps and third-party scripts can slow the store down and make visitors leave before they even reach the product.

Once those areas are working well, then I’d look at SEO and Google Shopping to bring in people who are specifically searching for log burners rather than just trying to increase traffic overall. And don’t be too discouraged if sales are slow at the beginning. A new store normally needs some testing before you know which products, pages and traffic sources are actually converting.

If speed turns out to be an issue, you could also look at tools such as Website Speedy for image and script optimization though it’s completely optional to use.
