After closing the store, unable to transfer from the balance account

I have been trying to contact the Help Center for over an hour without success. My issue is that I am unable to transfer the remaining balance to my bank account after closing my store.

I was advised to contact the Help Center, but since I could not get through, I felt I had no choice but to reopen the store briefly to attempt the transfer, and then immediately re-deactivate it.

As a result of this action, I was immediately charged the monthly subscription fee. In this case, should I ask the bank to return the claim? The help center can’t be contacted, so it’s just impossible to take action.

You don’t need to contact your bank. Don’t dispute the charge, because that can cause account delays.

Here’s what to do instead:

  1. Reopen your store (even temporarily).

  2. Go to Help Center → Contact Support → Chat or Email.

  3. Explain that you reopened only to withdraw your remaining payout and were charged unintentionally.

  4. Shopify Support can refund the subscription fee and help release your final payout.

Only Shopify can process the refund or payout — the bank can’t fix this from their side.

Hi @Thestylia

To answer your question, I would strongly advise against a chargeback. This can cause Shopify to permanently lock your account and may make it impossible to get your original remaining balance.

The only way to fix this is to get through to support. Go to the Shopify Help Center and when the chatbot starts, do not explain your problem. Just type ‘talk to a human’ or ‘contact support agent’ repeatedly. This should force it to give you a live chat or email option.

Hope this helps!
