Alia’s Vinyl Frontier Is Officially Open! 🎉

The store is now open, but it is still a work in progress! I currently have about 130 finished products available, and I’m continuing to add more albums, collections, merchandise, and special features.

Alia’s Vinyl Frontier was created from my lifelong love of music and the belief that every record has a story. My goal is to build more than an online record store—I want AVF to become a welcoming place where music lovers can discover old favorites, hidden gems, meaningful albums, and the records that become part of their own stories.

There is still plenty of work ahead. I’m continuing to improve the store’s design, product descriptions, navigation, collections, SEO, and overall shopping experience. I know everything is not perfect yet, but I decided not to wait until every detail was finished before opening the doors.

I would love feedback from the Shopify Community! If you visit the store, please let me know:

• Is the website easy to navigate?
• Do the collections make sense?
• Are the product pages clear and helpful?
• Does the store feel trustworthy and welcoming?
• Is there anything that should be improved before I begin promoting it more heavily?

Building Alia’s Vinyl Frontier has been a huge learning experience, and I’m proud of how far it has come. I’m excited to keep improving it, adding more inventory, and hopefully welcoming my first customers soon.

Thank you to everyone in the Shopify Community who has shared advice, encouragement, and helpful information along the way. This is only the beginning for AVF! :musical_notes:

Hello Alia’s Viny
Big congratualtions for lauching your store, this a big mileston.
I pray it bring more huge results and sales

What i realize was the store as a very slow loading speed which will keep customers waiting.
Have you been able to work on that?

Hi @aliasmith

With every post, you seem to add content, but I am wondering: have you checked your homepage? Complete page?

That menu is terrible: 30 items; some get you a 404, some empty pages, but it takes half a screen. You did not see that and thought it could be an issue. Have you seen other stores with a menu like that?

And the homepage has duplicate sections, some junk menu and example products.

Also, I see several issues mentioned before that you still did not address, but I guess you have a lot of work and that will come.

And please, @aliasmith do post in Store Feedback next time.

Hi,

I rechecked the public store URL at 04:39 UTC. The apex domain redirects to the www hostname, then the www homepage redirects again to /password. The password page returns HTTP 200 with an x-robots-tag of nofollow, and /sitemap.xml returns 404 from the public route.

So despite the launch announcement, a normal new visitor cannot reach the catalog and search engines cannot crawl the live products from that route. I would fix this before menu, description, or promotion work:

  1. Remove the storefront password in Shopify’s Online Store preferences and save.
  2. Test both the apex and www address in a private window that is not logged into Shopify.
  3. Confirm the homepage returns 200 without /password, /sitemap.xml returns 200, and representative product and collection URLs open.
  4. Confirm checkout is available before starting promotion.

This is a reachability issue, not a conversion diagnosis. Once public access is open, recheck the broken menu links separately.

Why do you keep asking and then put a password? If your store is open it’s better to keep it open, especially if you’re gonna ask for feedback every day… And it’s not good for seo either. Google can’t rank your site if it is always being redirected to a password page..

Good job on getting AVF public. Starting before everything is perfect is usually the right thing to do because real customer behavior is a better source of feedback than assumptions. With 130 products, I’d focus first on navigation and collections, then product page consistency, especially photos, condition details, formats, shipping info, and clear calls to action. SEO wise, ensure that the tittles and descriptions are what collectors would search for. Shopify Analytics also identifies where visitors are leaving so you can focus your efforts on improving the areas that will have the greatest impact on your store activity.
