Hoping there is someone that has insight into my problem. (I work on Dawn theme)
My product images display correctly until I link the variant images individually, then only 2 images show on the product page. One can see all the colours on the right but only two product photos showing on product page. Please see image.

Go to Online Store> Themes > Customize > Products > Default products to make pictures of other variants appear. It works. Check out the options, too, in the Variant pull down menu b/c there are several ways to make your variant images appear. Good luck!
