Printed 20 labels using Shopify labels today and have had multiple people email that they had delivery emails with tracking showing delivered for orders that either just shipped today or are going out tomorrow. When you follow the tracking they are all saying delivered for different orders in April. We can’t void the labels, because Shopify thinks the order has delivered. Not sure what to do here.
We have the same issue. Shopify said that they’re working on it, but not a whole lot of easy options. We had to recreate new orders with zero balances so we could purchase labels via another postage provider. A big hassle!
Same issue. Shipped about 50 orders and only 8 generated brand new tracking numbers. The rest say delivered in April. Customers are emailing us freaking out. I only realized after dropping them off and getting emails from customers. The good tracking numbers have updated to in transit and the “delivered” no updates. So frustrated. I hope they’ll be okay. ![]()
Anyone get an update from Shopify? The lack of response after reaching out to support is maddening!
They basically said to create labels on a different platform and wait until it’s sorted to go back in and void any labels on orders we didn’t ship to get our money back. Also said orders that did ship should still arrive, but it’s not great to have to email all of our customers and tell them to ignore the delivery emails and that we can’t provide any tracking updates beyond, “trust us, we shipped it.”
@thesilverspider This happened to us too, it’s a recycled tracking number issue where USPS recycled old numbers that still have April delivery history attached.
Here’s what worked:
Contact Shopify Support immediately and show them the duplicate tracking numbers. They’ll get replacement labels issued, usually at no extra cost. While you wait, shoot a quick email to affected customers explaining there’s a tracking glitch and their order did go out today. It saves a lot of back and forth.
Don’t void anything yourself yet — wait to hear back from Shopify first or you’ll end up with a bigger mess.
Also worth checking your other labels from today’s batch since if some are bad, more probably are too.
I contacted them last night, they said they are working on the issue. We are using a different shipping platform for the time being. Good thing I had them all scanned in at the kiosk yesterday and got a receipt. On the receipt, all the tracking numbers match their destinations and not what the “delivered” destination is. So that’s reassuring they are heading to the correct place.
Experiencing the same thing today, didn’t know until a customer asked why his order, shipped June 8th, was “delivered” on April 18th. This is a GENERATIONAL F-up on Shopify’s part. I’m not excited for the ■■■■■■■■■ of customers emailing us confused about their tracking info!
