We are looking for a way to allow orders, but postpone sending order info to our fulfillment warehouse until a date we choose. Here’s the situation we’re trying to address.
We have a standalone product “Product A” which has low inventory until next month.
We have a “Product Bundle” of which Product A is a component.
We want to continue selling both products instead of setting either to OOS.
If customers buy the Product Bundle, we want to fulfill the orders immediately.
If customers buy Product A, we want to postpone fulfillment. (The fulfillment warehouse will fulfill any orders they receive data for, so we can’t just tell them to postpone fulfillment of orders for Product A.)
The purpose of postponing fulfillment of Product A orders is to retain the remaining inventory for use in the Product Bundle.
We use Dropstream to send order data to the fulfillment warehouse. Maybe a Dropstream rule could achieve this.
We also have Shopify Flow and it mostly confuses me, but I’m happy to dig in more if needed.
Anyway, looking for a way to postpone sending the order data to the fulfillment warehouse until we replenish inventory. And of course, we want to automate all of this.
