I want to allow my customers to reserve a cart for a fee. It will reserve the items for them up to x days for $y. If they finish their purchase, this fee is deducted and its becoming a regular order. If they didn’t by the deadline, the items go back to the available inventory and they don’t get the initial fee.
I assume there’s no app for that but I wanted to know if this is something that could be custom-developed and if so, how do I even go about finding someone to do that?
Thank you for your reply. The way I mange it today is people send me a message asking to reserve items for them. I tell them they can reserve up to 10 days, I create a draft order and marking “reserve items” and send them invoice. If they don’t pay by that date, the products become available.
The way I want it to be:
people add items to the shopping cart. In the cart they have an option to either complete checkout or reserve. up to a week for $3 and up to 10 days $4. They will then receive a link to complete their purchase (like how I send the invoice). If they complete it by the deadline, we charge them and deduct the “reservation fee”. If they don’t, we only release the products back to the inventory.
I have very low hopes this is possible but this would be amazing for my business in order to remain competitive.
