Am I covered for customer damages claim under Terms of Service?

A customer is claiming the cost of her couch ($1500AUD) for the damage she says has been done to her couch by using a large fabric comb that I sell.

Does the Terms of Service cover me legally?

Hi there @FabricComb !

Sorry to hear you are facing this difficult situation.

It is important to be clear, however, that we cannot give legal advice from here in any way.

As such, we will always have to direct you to consult a qualified expert in your jurisdiction with any type of legal query.

Do you have any sort of policies in place on your store for your customers to view, and would you have legal representation you can consult for more info?

Hi Don,

The only policy I “have” is the standard Terms of Service that I added as part of my Shopify site. I changed the wording to be applicable to my business, and place of residence.

I will get legal advice in my country of residence, but I was hoping for more of a general answer from you (as I know you can’t give legal advice) about what the Terms of Service covers?
