Am I impersonating someone if I don't use my real name on Google?

Hello Shopify. I would like to know how you conclude that I am impersonating someone else. I have not violated Section 7 of Shopify’s Acceptable Use Policy in any way as I do not use my real name on google accounts for more privacy and therefore I would like to ask you to reconsider your decision and give me back the rights to manage my account. Thank you. Waiting for your reply.

Hi @RaduCaptari

Using a pseudonym on your Google account for privacy reasons doesn’t inherently constitute impersonation. However, Shopify’s Acceptable Use Policy Section 7 prohibits “malicious and deceptive practices,” which include deceptive activities. Shopify

If Shopify has determined that your use of a pseudonym is deceptive or violates their policies, it could lead to account restrictions. To address this issue:

  1. Review Shopify’s Acceptable Use Policy: Ensure your practices align with their guidelines. Shopify
  2. Contact Shopify Support: Provide a clear explanation of your situation, emphasizing that your use of a pseudonym is for privacy and not intended to deceive. Request a reevaluation of your account status.

By proactively engaging with Shopify and demonstrating your commitment to compliance, you increase the likelihood of a favorable resolution.

If you have other questions, I will also answer them.

Best regards,

Daisy
