All the shipping set up looks correct, can someone tell me if the site is fully functional, and we are ready to process an order and ship? Or do I have to buy something from myself to confirm the site is fully functional. We do not want to utilize the POS app component of the shopify platform.. but it shows this is still needed for set up. I see that potential customers have visited the site but no purchases. I do not recall putting in credit card information for shipping, unless this is automatically defaulted to the credit card on file for the purchase of the service? Any ideas? Thank you for your time.
Probably! Just having a store open is no guarantee someone will buy something. You could always share what your store is so people here can see ![]()
You are billed for the shipping costs you’ve accrued periodically just like how you pay your subscription fee monthly, it’s all paid for by the same card.

To test the checkout, you can place a test order. It is possible to place a test order with a real transaction and cancel it immediately afterwards, but you may be subject to transaction fees. If you want to place a test order without being charged, you can simulate a transaction. This is helpful for any third-party payment providers. If you’re using Shopify Payments, it features its own test mode. After testing, be sure to turn test mode off so that customers can place real orders.
If your admin is showing home cards about Shopify POS, it might be because the Point of Sale sales channel is installed. If you do see Point of Sale listed under the Sales channels heading of your admin, you can remove the sales channel by following the steps outlined here.
Alternatively, you may be able to dismiss the home card by selecting the three dots (…) and then clicking Dismiss. Here’s an example from my test store of what that looks like:
Regarding buying shipping labels with Shopify Shipping, @casey-customs is correct—shipping label fees are billed through your Shopify account (charged separately from your subscription, but using the same payment method).
