It’s come to our attention that orders using Amazon MCF may no longer be compatible with stores using popular subscription apps on Shopify.
Here’s the issue:
- If you use Amazon to fulfill your Shopify orders the Shipping Method title must match a method acceptable by Amazon. Most commonly this is “Standard”. The now defunct Shopify integration and all existing apps that now handle MCF orders require this as well
- The “2.0” version of all Shopify subscription apps (Bold, Recharge) use the ‘lowest cost method’ when the order is created, overriding any shipping method names. So these orders are all processed with a shipping method titled “Subscription Shipping”
- Because of this, orders will not sync to Amazon and can not be fulfilled unless manually entered (The orders can not be edited, either)
We have found where some apps may have an override capability but it still doesn’t stop new subscriptions from processing incorrectly.
We have tried changing the language files etc. for this with no success.
Is anyone else having this issue, have you found a workaround or does anyone else have any thoughts to share?
From what we’ve been told by Shopify and various app support teams there is no way to change this issue for now.
