An App destroyed my store, is there a way to undo?

Hey!

I have just installed an app, that compleatly ruined my store design. Even after I uninstalled, it is compleatly glitched and out of place.

Sadly, I didnt do an backup because I didnt think an App could do such harm. Are there any automated backups done by shopify that I can reload my store from?

Sorry to hear about this app causing some issues on your store. Could you tell me what exactly the problem is that this app caused? It is possible to “roll back” your store’s theme to a time before the app was installed and hopefully this will be a way to restore everything to how you want it. The steps to do this are:

  • From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
  • Find the theme you want to edit, and then click Actions > Edit code.
  • Under the Templates header, click into one of the .liquid files you have edited recently
  • Click Older versions next to the .liquid file name.
  • Click the drop-down menu to select an older version. Clicking a datestamp will roll the code back to that saved version.
  • Click Preview and see if the error was fixed.

If this does not work, then you can reach out to our support team, who can then request for the app developer to remove any traces of code left from this app that may be causing the issue. This is possible as long as the app has been added to your store from our Official App Store. Please do let me know if these steps help.
