Technical Description:
We’re encountering a reproducible navigation bug in the Shopify Android mobile app related to the order detail view.
Issue Summary:
When viewing an order in the Shopify Android app, we use the horizontal swipe gesture (left/right) to navigate between orders. However, after swiping through approximately 4 or 5 orders, the app forcibly resets the view back to the initial order (index 0), instead of continuing the sequence. In some cases, this is accompanied by a brief loading delay or a UI error flash.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Open Shopify Android app.
- Navigate to Orders.
- Tap on any order to enter the Order Detail View.
- Swipe horizontally (left or right) to move between orders.
- After 4–5 successful swipes, the view snaps back to the original order.
- Attempting to swipe beyond this point may throw a visual glitch or UI error.
Expected Behavior:
- Continuous navigation through all available orders via swipe gestures without interruption.
Observed Behavior:
- Navigation is limited to a fixed number of swipe transitions (~4–5), after which:
- The order detail screen resets to the first viewed order.
- In some instances, the screen stutters, errors are briefly shown, or the UI freezes before resetting.
Impact:
- This is affecting day-to-day order processing and is interrupting workflow for staff who rely on quick order navigation through swipes.
Please advise on whether this is a known issue and if a patch or update is in progress
