Any Shopify app for DIY crystal bracelets? (single bead variants + live preview)

Topic summary

Goal: Find a Shopify-compatible product configurator for DIY crystal bracelets with single-bead variants, live preview, free reordering, and accurate cart recording.

Key findings:

  • The referenced LucidBeads workspace is not a Shopify store, so its functionality isn’t from a Shopify app.
  • A similar Shopify example (Haylo & Co) embeds Go Kick Flip, a non-Shopify app, to power its configurator.

Proposed solutions:

  • Embed Go Kick Flip on a Shopify store to replicate Haylo’s approach.
  • Consider a custom build with advanced theme changes; 3D previews require larger budgets, 2D is more feasible.
  • Explore apps via “product-options,” “personalization,” or “3D configurator” searches; bundling apps may help.
  • Teeinblue Product Personalizer offers 2D live previews using clipart options and conditional logic (not 3D), potentially matching Haylo-like results.

Constraints:

  • A method relying on separate images per variation is impractical for 16 beads plus three option rows due to workload.

Media:

  • A YouTube tutorial explains a live preview approach; an illustrative image was shared but not essential.

Status:

  • No definitive Shopify app fully meeting all requirements; viable paths are Go Kick Flip embed or a personalization app/custom build. Discussion remains open.

I’m looking for a Shopify product configurator that allows customers to design crystal bracelets online. We sell single crystal beads (clear quartz, amethyst, etc.), each as an individual variant. When a customer clicks on a bead, it should be added to the bracelet, and the left side should display a live preview of the complete bracelet. The right side would show multiple beads, charms, and accessories, and customers should be able to add, move, remove, or reorder items freely. Finally, the complete selection should be added to the cart with all chosen beads correctly recorded in the order.

A similar workspace can be seen here:
https://www.lucidbeads.com/workspace/

Does anyone know of an app that can do this, or what app LucidBeads might be using?
Thanks!

Hey @awen111111 , I have no idea how they built this but the lucidbeads website is not a Shopify store so that functionality was not made using a Shopify App. Is this the kind of thing that is popular amongst bracelet and jewelry stores or is this something that not many stores offer?

@pierrewebdev

There aren’t many stores that offer this, but this type of visual presentation provides a much better experience for customers. For example, this website is built on Shopify and implements a similar functionality: https://www.hayloandco.com/products/custom-charm-necklace. I’m wondering if there are any Shopify apps or plugins that can achieve something like this.

So I took a closer look at that site and I figured out how they are doing this. The product configurator is powered by an app called Go Kick Flip. I put a link to their website at the bottom of my response.

It seems like haylocandco set up their product configurator on Go kick Flip and then manually embedded it onto their website. Go Kick Flip is not a Shopify App, but it should work for you as well.

It shouldn’t be too difficult to set up but if you need any with the set up process and making sure that it matches your website’s branding, feel free to reach out to me in a reply or over DM.

Hi @awen111111 I see you have a very unique case here, I just want to share a different setup which might suite your case. I recently recorded a video and explained it.

With this solution you can solve the problem of displaying a live preview and user will dynamically see the selected options.

Hi [email removed]farid-movsumov,
Your video explanation was really clear, and it helped me understand the method much better. Thank you for sharing it.

However, our bracelet requires selecting 16 crystal beads, plus three additional option rows.
If every variation needs to be created through different images, the overall workload would be extremely large,
so this approach may not be the best fit for us at the moment.

Thank you again for your video and explanation. If there are more flexible solutions in the future, I’d love to learn more from you.

Hi @awen111111 :waving_hand: to approach that level of quality that’s either a full custom build with app and advanced theme customizations , or you just need to trudge through shortlisting apps alone or hiring help.

And throwing dynamic 3D into the mix can generally means you better have a serious budget or reset expectations to 2D image previews.

To DIY on the cheap looking for either apps through keywords like product-options, variant options, personalization, etc.
e.g. https://apps.shopify.com/search?q=personalization
Or 3D configurator https://apps.shopify.com/search?q=3d%20configurator

And or possibly doing this through bundling apps ,and or advanced theme customizations.

Merchant needing to invest in this seriously can reach out to me for services to build such processes.

Hi @awen111111! :waving_hand:

I checked out the LucidBeads and Haylo sites you shared. While we can’t offer 3D configuration style like LucidBeads, our app Teeinblue Product Personalizer can help you achieve a similar result to the Haylo store!

Here’s what you can do:

  • Set up your crystal beads as clipart options: customers can select and add different beads to build their bracelet

  • Live preview on the mockup so customers can see exactly how their bracelet looks as they design it

  • Conditional logic to show or hide options based on what customers choose (for example, only showing certain charms after they’ve selected a base style)

We don’t have a demo product specifically for bracelets, but here’s an illustration of our app’s clipart feature

You can change the mockup on the left and for the personalization form on the right, those clipart options would be your chain and charm images.

Many of our merchants are using this feature for various products, including bracelets like yours!

Feel free to check out our app or reach out to our team if you’d like to explore whether this could work for your store.

Happy to help! :sparkles:
