Anyone know of a way to filter orders by the staff who processed them? Or even by cash sales?
Does anyone know if Shopify has ANY means of investigating losses at all?
Surely I’m not the only one who would like to protect their small business and finds it utterly insane that Shopify is the most lacking product when it comes to this sort of information…

For other methods it’s basically order tagging or metafields,etc then custom reports, or apps to consume and view that info in a UI.
For actual auditing and logging features contact support directly to file a feature request for your use case.
The CSV export via the Shopify Admin > Orders page should have a column called “Employee” which will give you the name of the staff who processed the order.
