Anyone else get the "Where is my order" (WISMO) request a lot?

I’ve owned an automotive performance ecommerce store since 2005. WISMO is one of my top questions from customers.

Many of our products are built to order or customized, which takes additional time to ship. Even though we outline the handling time on our product pages, many customers skim over it and don’t read this information.

We still get the dreaded, “where is my order?” requests. Only dreaded because it’s a time-suck.

Our customers are not asking when it will arrive, but when it will actually SHIP. So, I created an app that easily allows you to send an estimated shipping date to the customer. Ultimately, that’s what we can control, not the actual delivery date right?

“Where is my order?” (WISMO) is the most common customer service request in ecommerce, accounting for 18% of requests on average. Shipdate helps improve customer satisfaction by sending an estimated shipping date to your customers. When a date is selected for an order, an email is automatically sent to the customer keeping them up-to-date. This will reduce support requests from customers asking when their order will ship. You can even customize the email template.

I have more ideas to grow this app and add more functionality to help store owners. For example, I’d like to add the ability to send the ESD within the order view.
