I spent the last few weeks going through everything Shopify has released about Agentic Storefronts and it feels like most merchants are not talking about it yet. Which is strange because it is one of the biggest shifts in online shopping we have seen in a long time.

Your products can show up inside ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Copilot etc with working checkout right there in the chat.

I work in SEO, ecommerce, digital marketing, acquisition and have done for 21 years. I am currently the Marketing Director for one of the fastest growing companies in the UK. Agentic commerce is the first thing in years that feels like a real step change and I want to go deeper with it.

I can tell you that so far, at 12:16pm PST, there are no Agentic Storefront identified sales. I received the early email and I’ve done background updates in prep. I hope that as it rolls out I get some indication that it’s working.

Can I ask a few questions, please?

  1. How long have you had the Agentic Storefront sales channel in your Shopify admin?

  2. What “prep work” have you done?

  3. Are you tracking AI visibility in 3rd party tools?

  4. Can you force your products to appear in say GPT if you’re very specific? Do you have GPT/AIO/Copilot settings?

  5. How’s your SEO exposure traffic normally?

I do not think it has been enabled yet. My shop was also sent the early access email but I do not see anything new under Sales Channels.

Has anyone got access to Agentic Storefront channel yet? :man_shrugging:

I chatted with Support Wednesday (1/28) evening about the roll-out for shops in early access.

If you received the email earlier in the month (“Terms for Agentic Storefronts”), your shop is included in the early access.

They are rolling it out in phases but Support can not determine which phase your shop is in and would not disclose a target date for the roll-out to be completed.

When it has been enabled on your shop, you will receive a confirmation email letting you know it’s available. It will appear as a new section in Admin → Sales Channels.
