I’m evaluating subscription apps for a Shopify store and came across Kaching Subscriptions. On the App Store it looks solid, but I noticed it’s relatively new and most feedback seems to live only on the Shopify listing.
Before committing, I wanted to ask the community directly:
Has anyone here actually used Kaching Subscriptions in production?
How has it been in terms of reliability (billing, renewals, failed payments)?
Any issues with theme compatibility or checkout?
How does support respond when something breaks?
If you switched from Recharge / Appstle / Loop — why?
Not trying to bash the app at all — just looking for real merchant experiences beyond app store reviews.
Kaching Subscriptions is gaining traction among Shopify merchants primarily due to its 0% transaction fee model and its native integration with Shopify Checkout, which avoids the “ghost order” bugs common in older apps. Because it uses Online Store 2.0 App Blocks, it is generally more stable and easier to style than legacy competitors like Recharge, with support frequently praised for handling custom CSS fixes in real-time. While it lacks some of the hyper-advanced logic of older platforms, its reliability with billing and renewals makes it a strong contender for stores looking to cut costs without sacrificing basic subscription functionality.
