App that can set discount rules with both cart value and minimum quantity.

I am looking for a solution to give automated discounts to customers who purchase minimum 3 items that has total value of over $500. I can’t find an app that can set both requirements.

If the customer adds just 2 items which amounts to over $500, should they not get the discount? Why should the number of items matter if the total value is the deciding factor?

You can use the iCart Cart Drawer Cart Upsell app to implement a discount that requires customers to purchase a minimum of 3 items with a total value of over $500. Here’s how you can set up both conditions using the app:

  1. Item Count Condition (Minimum 3 Items):

    • In iCart, you can create an upsell or discount rule based on the number of items in the cart. Set the condition to trigger when a customer has 3 or more items in their cart.

  2. Cart Value Condition (Over $500):

    • You can also set a cart value condition in addition to the item count condition. For the discount to be applied, the cart’s total value must exceed $500.

  3. Discount Application:

    • Once both conditions are met (at least 3 items and a total value of $500+), the app can automatically apply the discount to the customer’s cart.

If iCart doesn’t have a built-in way to combine these two conditions directly, you could explore stacking discounts or using Shopify’s automatic discount settings to complement iCart’s functionalities.

If the app doesn’t fully support the complex rule (3 items and $500 total), another option is to combine Shopify Scripts (for Shopify Plus users) or explore Smart Discount apps that work with the iCart app.

Hi AD-3000,

It sounds like you want both the “minimum 3 items” and “total value over $500” to apply to the same group of items. For example:

  • If there are 3 items, but the cart value is $499, no discount should apply
  • If the cart value is $501, but there are only 2 items, no discount should apply

You’ll need to use two “minimum purchase requirements” conditions. One of them should be a “minimum quantity of items,” while the other should be a “minimum purchase amount.” Also, I assumed you literally meant “over $500,” hence the “$500.01” in the screenshot, but you can change it to $500 in case you meant “$500 or greater.”
