hello, yes we fixed it for our website www.yallacase.com , can you share yours we can check and see if we can help
How di dyou fix it
You canât unless you have Shopify pro
it is error from Shopify side related to area and city mapping with city Apple Pay city field
Hello Firas
we donât have Pro Shopify and itâs working without issue for us. Can you try to make a purchase (not to pay) just to see if you have the error on our website YallaCase.
Same issue is in your website , if I put the area anything but city, I will get this error .
if you put the area in the shipping ( Dubai , Abu Dhabi , Sharjah , etc⌠) this it will work
it very confusing for UAE customers, which will cause dropout.
The Shopify developer who did the mapping with Apple Pay for UAE , is an Xxxxx with all my respect . Shopify doesnât want to do anything about it
so upsetting
I understand your frustration but itâs not Shopify the issue. Are you using stripe for the payment gateway ?
Hi ,
I assume you donât live in UAE
you put the area = Dubai , which in this case your Apple Pay will be successful.
As a customer in UAE
Dubai is not an area , it is a city.
area could be = Barsha , downtown Dubai , Dubai marina etcâŚ.
customer in UAE will not use , Dubai as area and Dubai as a city.
Hope it is clear now
if you were able to fix that , please let us know
thank You
Hi Firas,
Any update on this issue? I got a complaint for a customer with the same error. We are in the UAE. Iâve also experienced the same error across several other stores.
Thank you
Hello,
Let me know please if you were able to solve it, I am also in UAE and its always giving âUpdate Shipping Addressâ, and when I go to shipping section, it is asking to âEnter a valid state / provinceâ, although there is no such fields.
Regards,
Hello Ben, sorry this was written 1 year ago, and I hope you get this, I want to understand more about how you manage to overcome this problem. my location and my shipping address are both in UAE, but Apple Pay still does not work.
so was your advice to change the country ? usu another country as location and as shipping address?
waiting for your reply
Any one found a solution for this? This is not acceptable im trying to fix it for months and tried with shopify support nothing is changing!
Hi June, Hope youâre well. Have you been able to solve this issue? It seems to be explained well in this thread.
Hello Firas, I know this is clearly not sorted yet, but I was just wondering could a shopify developer âinterveneâ to alter that mapping? I know they canât do much in the checkout page, but I am just wondering cause clearly there are api fields there too
Hi everyone,
I wanted to share a solution weâve discovered for a common Apple Pay issue in Stripe that many might be experiencing.
The Issue:
When trying to use Apple Pay directly from a single product page, you get an âinvalid addressâ error. However, the same Apple Pay works perfectly if you first add the product to cart and then use Apple Pay.
Why This Happens:
The root cause is that Stripe hasnât fully initialized the cart and shipping calculations when Apple Pay is triggered directly from a product page. When you add to cart first, these calculations are properly initialized, which is why it works in that flow.
Quick Solution:
The temporary workaround is simple - instead of trying to buy directly with Apple Pay from the product page:
- Add the product to cart first (using the regular Add to Cart button)
- Then use Apple Pay and you will see itâs works.
Technical Explanation:
- When Apple Pay is triggered from a product page, it attempts to validate shipping before Stripe has fully set up the cart session
- Adding to cart first ensures all necessary hooks and calculations are properly initialized
- This is why the shipping validation succeeds in the cart/checkout flow
