Hi - we have a considerable subscriber base, and they tend not to log onto the site but instead just let their shipments automatically process. My question in - are the sales $ and units calculated in Shopify’s conversion rate %?
I know conversion rate is sales/sessions, but are subscriptions calculated in the same way since they typically don’t include a site visit? If they are, wouldn’t that severely sway the conversion rate %?
thanks
Hi there!
I run a subscription business using ReCharge/Shopify, and I just confirmed that Total Sales reports include all sales, including subscription renewal orders.
Conversion rates however, do not include subscription renewals. Our conversion rate is respectable, but it would be upwards of 90% if subscription renewals were included (those would all be calculated as 1 visit - 1 sale, which would dramatically increase your conversion rate). I suppose it depends on your subscription management application however!
We use Shop and Recharge as well. Is there any report that shows with % of new business each day that was a new subscription.
So as an easy example, say you had 100 online orders, not rebiilled subscriptions on a given day. Is there a report that would show how many were new subscriptions? And the same for week/month/year, etc.
Thanks!
