Are there ANY Buy Now Pay Later Options In UK?

Hello, I am working with a client based in UK who would like to offer buy now pay later on their products but can not find an app or other service that is eligible in the UK. I have looked into klarna, shop pay/affirm, splitit, dividio, and have viewed this list with no luck: https://www.shopify.com/uk/payment-gateways/united-kingdom

Does anyone know an app which can currently be used to offer “buy now pay later” to customers located in the UK?
It is hard for me to believe there is not a single option for this region as there are many for other European countries. Thanks!

Klarna is certainly available for UK.

So there is a klarna app, klarna payment gateway, and neither work in UK shopify stores correct? I need to setup merchant portal then manually integrate by inputting the relevant information in my payment settings? Then customers will be taken off-site to finish purchase? Do I have that right? Thanks

Klarna is available for UK as a direct payment method, per: https://docs.klarna.com/platform-solutions/shopify/payments/klarna-payments/

If you don’t yet havea Klarna account, you can sign up for a Klarna account at http://klarna.com/business

Once you have your account, you can complete the integration in the Klarna Merchant Portal and your Shopify store admin. Customers will be redirected from your Shopify checkout to Klarna’s hosted payment page to complete a Klarna purchase.

This is disingenuous Klarna.

If you want to have Klarna for a UK customer, you have to:

  1. have your business registered in the UK
  2. have your store currency set to GBP
  3. have a UK bank account

If you want to then offer Klarna to USA clients, you can’t. You have to have a separate store, that:

  1. is registered in the USA
  2. has USD as your base currency
  3. have a US bank account.

I have just gone through all of this with Klarna as I have a UK store, with a UK bank account, but most of my clients are in the US, so I have my base currency as the USD. As it stands, NO-ONE can use my Klarna integration as I don’t have the USA registration and account, and for the UK clients I don’t have my base currency as GBP.

This also applies for every other region as well. So the EU and Australia, and Asia.

Previously Klarna had the global gateway, but they have removed it now and you can’t use it for international clients. Basically, Klarna is completely useless.

You can only use Klarna internationally if you use wordpress or something similar. You can’t use shopify or Woocommerce or any of the others.
