Are you comfortable appearing on camera for your business or do you avoid it?
As a millennial, avoid that at all costs!
We hired influencers and a specific generation (hint: Z) for this. Unfortunately, we can’t always rely on them, so I’m prepping myself to appear on camera. I’ll be channeling my inner Karisma Shalukhina and hopefully making a cameo on the Learn with Shopify channel ![]()
I can relate to this - I’m not very comfortable appearing on camera either. What’s your main goal with showing up on video? Is it mostly to build a stronger connection with your clients?
In my case, I’ve been experimenting with packing videos. In these, the camera only shows my hands while I pack an order, and I talk to the customer without showing my face. There is an example of it in the middle of: https://youtu.be/-7pYnM7iST20
I feel awkward in front of the camera when my face is visible (as you can see in the actual YouTube video), but when it’s just my hands, it feels much more natural - and it still creates a personal connection.
