As a dropshipper can i use Shopify payment gateway for USA.
Topic summary
A dropshipper with a legally registered U.S. company (including PO Box and EIN) is being denied access to Shopify Payments because they lack a physical U.S. address.
Key Points:
- Shopify Payments requires a physical U.S. address, not just a PO Box or legal business registration
- The original poster is not U.S.-based but has established a legitimate U.S. company with standard requirements
- Despite meeting legal business setup requirements, Shopify’s payment gateway team rejected the application
Suggested Alternative:
- Use Stripe as a third-party payment processor instead
Status: The issue remains unresolved, with the dropshipper unable to access Shopify Payments due to the physical address requirement.
you can absolutely use Shopify Payments in the USA, as long as you’re based there or have a U.S. business address. It’s actually a great option because it’s seamless, and you get lower transaction fees compared to third-party gateways. Just make sure your store complies with Shopify’s terms (like being in a supported industry), and set up everything like your tax settings and payment options correctly. If you’re using dropshipping suppliers, check if they also support U.S. payments for smoother transactions
i have been in connection with Shopify Team and they are denying my request to use their payment gateway stating that we need to have a physical address in the US. As for me I am not from the US but have set up a legal company in the US with standard requirements like PO Box, EIN, etc.
But not sure why they are asking for a dropshipper physical address in the US.
Then maybe use Stripe payments instead?
