Assign one lot of inventory to all variants

Hi!
I want to offer gift wrapping to a product, so I’d prefer to do it the easiest way I can think of as a variant where I can offer different price options, but I don’t want to have stock assigned to these variants

Example

Pin badge £1 with 10 in stock

add Variants of Pin badge (with box £2/ with bag £3/ no bag or box £1)

But I don’t want the stock quantity to deduct from the variants, just the original Pin badge.

Hope this makes sense! Is there a way to do it?

I took a little research on what you’re asking and found that if you have inventory for the product then you must have inventory for the product variants as well. But you can solve this by using Product Options apps to add extra options with add-on price for each option.

So far, I’ve found this app which provides Free pricing for you to test out: G-Variants: Product Options - by Globo.

There are other apps that have same function as well, but it will cost you a little to use it for your store. I will also leave those similar apps here for you to check out:

• Install the app and initiate the setup by creating an option set:

• Within the option set, add an option that allows customers to choose to add more boxes or bags with an additional cost. You can use Dropdown or any other suitable option type for this purpose.

• Assign the option set to your Pin Badge product, and you’re all set!
