Assigning a ship date to an order and it being shown on the customers login screen

Does anyone know if the following is possible? I am trying to find a way to assign a ship date to a customer’s order so that when the customer logs in, they can see the expected ship date for their order. I am hoping this will help with keeping customers updated better so they don’t have to email constantly asking for updates.

We have the current turnaround time listed multiple places on our website when ordering but that doesn’t seem to help.

Thanks!

Hi @GaryG ,

The ship date for the products is the same? And when customers order in any area, the ship date is the same?

If the values are the same, I can guide you to display the ship date for the orders on the order page. For example, the order creation date is 11/01, ship date you want is 4 days, I will help you show it as 15/01.

But if the values are custom, you need to install the app for it, because this is the only way to display it. Refer https://apps.shopify.com/omega-estimated-shipping-date or https://apps.shopify.com/search?q=Shipping%20Date

Hope it helps!

I’m not sure that app will do what I want. The “ship date” would vary depending on the order’s size. It needs to be a custom value “date” on each individual order like “Expected Ship Date: 4-12-2022”. We already have an estimated timeline on the checkout page where we say " Current turnaround time is ______" but all customers ignore this or forget what it had said at checkout.

I want a way for our customers to be able to login, go to their “my orders” and see what date was assigned for their order. It seems like it would be a very simple feature but I have yet to find an app that does that.

Hi @GaryG ,

If the delivery date depends on the order, you need to install the app for it. Refer https://apps.shopify.com/search?q=Shipping%20Date

There are a lot of apps out there and I can’t give you advice without checking them all. Therefore, it is best to find out and contact the app for more explanation. Please sympathize with me in this case.

If it helped you solve your issue, please mark it as a solution. Thank you and good luck.
