I have two fulfillment centers for my Shopify store. One fulfillment center is connected through a custom-developed app in Shopify, while the other fulfillment center has been given additional access to the store. I want to ensure that orders are assigned correctly based on customer location to avoid mix-ups and prevent the wrong location from shipping products. How can I configure my Shopify store to automatically assign orders to the appropriate fulfillment center, considering the different setups of these fulfillment centers?
Try Settings > Shipping and delivery and set up routing rules:
If the options there aren’t able to do what you’re looking for, you should be able to handle it with Order Automator (you can create rules to change fulfillment location, for example, based on order details, and customizations are available if the default app features can’t do it).
Is that screenshot a native feature of Shopify? I can’t find it
I found it in Settings > Shipping and Delivery > Order Routing
It looks it’s being gradually rolled out, or you need to ship from 2 different locations to enable - https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/shipping/setting-up-and-managing-your-shipping/order-routing
If you’ve shipped from multiple locations and don’t see it, maybe you can contact Shopify to see how to unlock it.
aha early access. I can’t believe this wasn’t a feature eons ago.
Thanks!
