Attach multiple products to one inventory?

We manufacture a variety of infused olive oils, balsamic vinegars, sea salts, herbs, and spices. We sell these products individually online, but then we also make “recipe kits” with this products where we’ll include normally one oil, vinegar, salt, and a dried herb/seasoning. This recipe kits are a unique product, but still pull from the same inventory as the individual products. If we run out of an item , we have to go in and out of stock not only that individual item, but any recipe kits that use that product (which can be anywhere from 5-20 other products). Or if we are low stock, we have to go in and split the inventory between the different products so we avoid selling a product when its physically out of stock. (As some times are out of stocks can last a few days or months at a time). Is there an app or way to pull from one inventory, so for example when we run out of our Roasted Garlic Infused Sea Salt it will just out of stock that individual product plus any recipe kits it appears in?

Hi

This is a common use case for our users. You bundle up the recipe kids with component SKUs.

Our app can do 2 things:

  1. After an order is made we split the recipe kit into the individual components. This means that the inventory of components will get updated correctly.

  2. You can set the recipe kits inventory level to be automatically calculated based on component stock levels. So if one component goes out of stock the kit will also go out of stock.

If you need a hand in setting up or testing please get in touch.
