Attention: Product Grouping App Developers - Group By Tags?

Hello! I’ve been looking for Product Grouping apps and I think I’ve tried them all and there’s not quite something that fits perfectly. I’m looking to group products so they show up similar to variants.

There are many great product grouping apps but the process is very manual:

  1. add group

  2. search for products

  3. add products to group

  4. select how you want to navigate between the grouped products (image swatches, buttons)

  5. upload images for the swatches

  6. etc…

It’s too much to do for hundreds of products.

Is there an app that can create a product group template first, and then just group products based on tags added to the product or something? This would make grouping similar products so much easier so you don’t have to repeat the process over and over for each product.

I’d love to set up my grouping template ONCE. For example, a single design that is on (cups, mouspads, bowls – this would be 3 separate products)

Next, I’d love to just eventually add a tag to those products to group them automatically.

Does anything like this exist out there??

Setting up these product groups one by one is too much manual labor.

What do you even mean by “product grouping”:

  • If you mean collections that’s just creating automated collections with tags as conditions; a baseline feature..
  • If you mean bundles again sidestep the matter and also look for group based on collections that contain the tag logic or metafields
  • If you mean combined listings where multiple products/variants behave as a singular product , that is a shopify Plus feature, and “sibling” “product family” etc are the terms to research to try and find similar solutions.
  • do you mean markets, B2B catalogs, etc etc

You can try the Easify Product Options app, which lets you set up cross-product linking for multiple products at once using product URLs with variables :hugs: . You don’t need to manually create many product groups. However, to use this feature, your product URLs must follow similar patterns.
