Australian based business selling in the USA - bank account set up

Hi

I am setting up a USA based store selling in USD (obviously:).

i need to get shopify payments in USD to pay suppliers in USD - not convert to AUD and back again to pay them.

any ideas how to set this up as the shopify payments setting in the store defaults to AUD and cant be altered by the looks ;/

Hi, @stellarugs .

Thank you for reaching out and posting this question.

It is possible for some countries, such as Canada, Czechia, Romania, Sweden, and Switzerland, to receive their payouts in a different currency. However, this feature isn’t available in Australia at this time. If you’d like to learn more about the specific countries and currency pairings, then we’ve got a guide on that here: Supported payout currencies. That being said, we’d be happy to share this feedback as a feature request with our Development team for future considerations. If Shopify moves forward with any platform updates or new releases, then you can find them on the Shopify Changelog.

If you have any other questions on this topic, then don’t hesitate to let us know.

thanks for the quick response and seems like a good feature in this day and age

Hi @stellarugs

Please set your store currency as USD so customers will pay you in USD, but the payments will automatically convert to AUD when you receive them.

If you have a Stripe US account, use the solution at https://community.shopify.com/post/2830091
